"Back to Basics" Webinar

Join us for a workshop that is open to Columbia faculty, staff, postdocs, and students who are seeking guidance on how to create clear and effective science graphics.
 

Featuring the following Presenters:

Bill Shander, the founder & CEO of Beehive Media, collaborates with clients on information design projects such as interactive data visualizations, static infographics, data storytelling animations, and speaker presentations.

Betsy A. Palay is a board certified medical illustrator and an expert in translating complex science concepts into accessible visual communications for audiences ranging from researchers and clinicians to investors and patients.

Gary Oberbrunner is the CEO of Dark Star Systems, a startup for helping scientists create beautiful visualizations of their data.

Eleni Kostis is a Senior Science Visualizer at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. During the last decade, she has been exploring the field of data-driven visualization as a storytelling medium to communicate NASA’s research findings to the general public and to engage new audiences.

Moderator: Nicoletta Barolini, Art Director, Communications & Public Affairs, Columbia University. 

  • Each presentation is about 20 minutes with a 15-minute Q&A with the audience after all presenters have spoken. There will be a short break at the midpoint.  
  • Open to all Columbia faculty, researchers and staff; you do not need to be a member of the WeConnect group to join.
