The Political Future of Muslims in India

Join Professor Mujibur Rehman for a conversation about his upcoming book "Shikwa e- Hind: Political Future of Indian Muslims" which is coming out in early 2024. 

Dr Mujibur Rehman is a political scientist who teaches at the Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy, Jamia Millia Islamia.  He works at the interface of identity politics and development politics. Dr Rehman received his graduate training at the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi; the University of Heidelberg, Germany; and the University of Texas, Austin. His forthcoming book is, Shikwa e- Hind: Political Future of Indian Muslims to be published by Simon and Scuster sometime in January in 2024. He regularly writes reviews and op-eds on contemporary political developments in India in the Hindu, the Hindustan Times, The Outlook, etc. He was co-investigator  on a research project titled, Remapping Citizenship hosted by the University of York, UK; and also had completed a research project on anti- Christian violence in Kandhamal, Odisha in 2008.Dr  Rehman has published several book chapters and articles in academic journals,  and he  is also the editor of The Rise of Saffron Power: Reflections on Indian Politics (2018); Communalism in postcolonial India: Changing Contours (2016), subsequently republished in 2018 with a new introduction by Romila Thapar and afterward by Dipesh Chakrabarty.
