Intro to Graphic Music Notation (Music Technology Workshops Series)

March 10, 2025
6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
America/New_York
Dodge Hall, 2960 Broadway, New York, NY 10027 Gabe M. Wiener Music & Arts Library

This workshop offers an introduction to graphic notation. We will look at examples of graphic notation, discuss the benefits and the drawbacks of using graphic notation vs. traditional western notation, and try making our own kind of graphic notation. This workshop is intended for musicians and non-musicians alike.

The workshop will be held in the Seminar Room of the Music & Arts Library, 701 Dodge. Ask at the desk for directions to the Seminar Room.

This workshop is taught by MFA Sound Art graduate student Ása Ólafsdóttir, and is part of the Music Technology Workshops Series, co-sponsored by the Music & Arts Library and the Libraries' Digital Scholarship program.
