Intro to GarageBand (online workshop)

December 13, 2021
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
America/New_York
Online

In this online workshop, there will be a basic overview of the Garageband software interface. Garageband is a great introductory tool for digital music production, as it is included free on all Mac computers, and it has the ability to create fully realized, professional-sounding music. Topics covered will include creating a new project, using software instruments to create music, recording live music performance, basic mixing, and exporting your final track. No prior musical or audio editing experience required.

Bringing your laptop with GarageBand installed is recommended, but not required.

A Zoom link will be sent to registered participants, in advance of the workshop.

Taught by John Levee, graduate student in the MFA Sound Art program.

Open to CU students, faculty, and staff.

This session is part of the Music Technology Workshops series, from the Music & Arts Library. Please check the Workshops page, at: https://library.columbia.edu/using-libraries/workshops.html   for additional workshops in the Fall 21 and Spring 22 semesters.
