This workshop offers an introduction to using music notation software Dorico, where we will go over the basic functions of the software. A part of the class will be dedicated to tricks for transitioning to Dorico from other notation softwares (such as Finale). Some previous knowledge of music notation is necessary. A free trial version of the software is available at: https://www.steinberg.net/dorico/. (The software is also installed on the machines of the Digital Music Lab in the Music & Arts Library, for further exploration on your own time.)
The workshop will be held in the Seminar Room of the Music & Arts Library, 701 Dodge. Ask at the desk for directions to the Seminar Room.
This workshop is taught by MFA Sound Art graduate student Ása Ólafsdóttir, and is part of the Music Technology Workshops Series, co-sponsored by the Music & Arts Library and the Libraries' Digital Scholarship program.
