Infectious Disease Modeling: A Brief Introduction - episummer

June 1, 2025 - June 30, 2025
America/New_York
Online

This short course will provide a brief introduction to mathematical modeling methods and applications for infectious diseases. We will first introduce the commonly used compartmental methods, including the SIR (susceptible-infectious-recovered) model, and how we can use the models to study epidemic dynamics. We will discuss the utility and main applications of modeling, key modeling principles, and key modeling concepts. We will also have a compute lab session for modeling exercise using the R Studio open source program.
