Dr. Paniagua-Avila is a Guatemalan primary care physician and a doctoral candidate in Public Health (DrPH) with the Department of Epidemiology at Columbia University. Her research focuses on developing, implementing and evaluating public health and clinical interventions to promote and treat mental health and other chronic diseases in low- and middle-income countries.
