Down syndrome, calcineurin signaling and the tumor microenvironment

The role of the tumor microenvironment in promoting tumor growth and progression has been an active area of investigation for many years.  Clues from individuals with Down syndrome have provided insight into the regulation of tumor angiogenesis by the calcineurin signaling pathway. This talk will discuss our work on calcineurin signaling and endothelial cell activation in primary tumors and during the formation of early metastatic niches in the lung.
