This workshop will cover the basics of the free digital audio workstation software, Audacity. Participants will be walked through how to download the software and use it for editing sound files. Participants can bring any sound file they like for editing. If you do not wish to bring a sound file, we will cover open source sound libraries as well. There will be space to experiment at the end, so feel free to bring any inquires you may have for processing sounds.
The workshop will be held in the Seminar Room of the Music & Arts Library, 701 Dodge. Ask at the desk for directions to the Seminar Room.
This workshop is taught by MFA Sound Art graduate student Miles Scharff, and is part of the Music Technology Workshops Series, co-sponsored by the Music & Arts Library and the Libraries' Digital Scholarship program. For a list of all the workshops, with registration links, go to: bit.ly/MusTechSp25
